REGULATIONS FOR PREVENTING COLLISIONS AT SEA

This book cites the present International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea, which came into force in 1995.  All rules are followed by the author’s definitions, explanations, discussions and questions with answers, as appropriate, for the actual rule.

By some 80 figures, plates and pictures, both day shapes and navigational lights for ships under various conditions are displayed in color to assist the reader in digesting the rules and correctly interpret navigational lights observed at night as well as day shapes observed during daylight.  After having successfully studied and completed the tests in this book, the student will be able to identify lights, shapes, and sound signals, decide whether there is a risk for collision and take appropriate actions to avoid collision.
